The days of sitting around a wee 14" TV with shocking reception where you could hardly see the ball doesn't feel that long ago, but when when I watch the cricket at home on a 42" TV I realise how far we have come.

I reckon the best way to experience a test match in New Zealand (if you can't be at the match) is listening to it on radio sport while painting a fence or doing some other 'summer task'. Nothing more kiwi then that!

I watched the game and we got lucky at the end with that brilliant strike. Turkey were a much stronger side and were far more talented. Our defence however really stood up and while Turkey dominated posession and moved the ball freely into the box they struggled to convert this to goals. Our keeper also played a blinder.

Great to see a NZ football team performing and punching above their weight. Hopefully this is a good omen for the All Whites game in a couple of weeks.

Having spent time in all of the Auckland stadiums as well as growing up at Lancaster Park/Jade Stadium/AMI stadium, and now living in Wellington I have found that access, like you say, is a major reason for its success.

The other thing I noticed is that the crowd involvement, loyalty and support is far greater in Wellington then Auckland or Canterbury, which creates a brilliant atmosphere at the stadium. The closest thing to it is a full house at Mt Smart.

As far as the Phoenix are concerned I think if they were in any other centre they would not generate the same number of fans and the franchise would struggle!

yeah, good result for the nix and agree with you that its such a tight competition that a 6-0 score is incredibly valuable come play off time. lets hope they can string a couple of wins together.

While I never agree with Chris Rattue on the basis that he is an idiot, I have to say that the TMO should be more feasible in a ten team competition. Also, while the HB v Canterbury game had a decent sized crown, the majority of games this season have had far to little public support, which effects the income of bothe the individual unions and the NZRFU. Maybe those who are pissed off with the ref's should lend a hand and fill a seat at their local stadium.

In Response:

Check out our Website and view the KNOCKOUT FORMAT that has been suggested to TEW and Crew , A Format that has at yet had No PUBLIC Discussion. We got this info from an un named source in the middle of the NZRFU Cauldron.

This Format would Allow ALL 26 Unions the Chance ..... to be in Top Flight
